Based on Jack Higgins’s novel, it is hardly plausible, but it’s fun to see so many acting favourites (there’s also Robert Duvall, Larry Hagman, Jenny Agutter and Donald Pleasence as Himmler) among the watermills and blooms of Norfolk. Go to Full Review Vincent Canby New York Times May 9, 2005
With so many failed suspense melodramas turning up these days, it's refreshing to see one made by people who know what they're about and, in that knowledge, have no delusions of grandeur. Go to Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com Jan 5, 2023

…a rattling good tale that deserves a place in the roll-call of populist war movies… Go to Full Review Dane Lanken Montreal Gazette Aug 25, 2022
The sort of movie that's ideal if you've got a couple of hours to kill. Go to Full Review David Sterritt Christian Science Monitor Nov 11, 2021
There are whole scenes that could have been lifted from other hackneyed war dramas, and scarcely a moment of real human feeling amid all the broad gestures and occasional howling clichés. Go to Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Sep 1, 2021

Crafted with meticulous precision and infinite patience, the film unfolds like a good novel, with compelling exposition eventually giving way to thrilling action. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

Mary S @RT31692299 Jul 6, 2026 Scattered connections makes it impossible to identify shards of action. See more Horror fan 4 @Horrorfan4life Jun 15, 2026 This is a war drama Thriller but it felt like some comedy got placed in there as well. I laughed several times. All that aside this was a very well made movie with terrific characters and performances. The final gun battle was piticulary interesting and a little to easy. It was nice seeing Donald Pleasence. Tim Treakle See more Paul T @Tunners Jan 3, 2026 Its a brilliant lazy afternoon war film packed with actors you recognise and a wonderful performance from Larry Hagman. See more Jelisije J @jjosifovic Dec 15, 2025 This movie was so disjointed with their tone, story, and characters that it ultimately left me with a memorable confusing time. See more alan g @agenser May 2, 2025 The movie poster has more action in it. Very boring and stiffly acted. For the quality of the actors one would have expected better. See more John K @RT22742614 Mar 14, 2025 Is it a comedy? Is it a drama? Who cares? It fails at both. So much wasted talent! See more Read all reviews
