James T @nyccowboy 6d Like the curate's egg, this pic is very good, in parts. King's analysis of the terrible Santa Claus script is funny enough for me to consider adapting it into an audition piece for myself. Kidman and Ephron achieve such infectious hilarity in their getting-to-know-you foreplay that I'm sad the rest of the movie doesn't attempt to delve into that kind of personal detail. But it doesn't. I doubt the budget and schedule would have allowed for such work. Bates doesn't have much to do, but she does the hell out of it. The rest of the flick is no better than it should be. The first kiss scene with Zac and Nicole gave me serious second hand embarrassment, I skipped the scene at first but went back to rewatch like 30 seconds later. Once you get through that it's actually really good. I watched without my phone in hand and locked in. I mean I did take a 1:1 CBD/THC gummie so maybe this is that talking but it was funny. Joey King's acting in this was so good. Comedic timing on point and her facial expressions were the best. She was the star in this with her dialog and being a fan favorite. Saying that with Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron also starting is no joke. I was surprised with how satisfied and happy I was when it ended. Wish we could see the bloopers! But Zac Efron was the worst. I should learn by now that any movie he plays it is going to be subpar. See more R T @KPB38 Feb 25 One of the worst movies I've seen. Nicole Kidman walked through her role zombie-like. She had a botox-frozen face and a terible stiff wig. It was hard to watch her. The sex scenes with Efron were even more uncomfortable to watch. For one, their age gap was just too big. And for another Kidman is so skinny that she looks sickly, her naked body with every bone poking through was not sexy at all. Efron was good in some scenes, but he and Kidman had zero chemistry. Absolutely zero. Joey King was terrible. She flops through every scene, pulling faces and whining like a petulent tween.
