Jacob B @RT89309114 Feb 22 You know, I think this is the only time I've seen a film from an X-Files staff member actually advertise itself as being directed by someone who worked on the show. Alien Trespass...exists. I don't have any problems with it and R.W. Goodwin certainly does an admirable job paying homage to old '50s sci-fi but it doesn’t have much else to offer beyond the throwback novelty. Though I'll admit it made a good first impression with the prologue homaging what '50s cinema was like. And I guess it's a nice change of pace that the premise was played straight rather than a parody like Monsters vs. Aliens allegedly was. But when movies like Tremors and Eight-Legged Freaks have done this kind of thing better, Alien Trespass is just...there. It achieves what it sets out to do, but not in a distinctive way past acting like a "lost" '50s film IN COLOUR! Hell, even The X-Files did this better with episodes like "Jose Chung's From Outer Space" and the one about the Files' origins. See more David B. @RT14283473 Nov 29 Square, but kinda groovy! A lot more gags and quips may have made it more bearable. You could see that everyone was trying hard to make it work. Sets and costumes were pretty good.
