More than 40 skits, animated shorts and interludes are included in this big-screen incarnation of the popular British television program "Monty Python's Flying Circus." The narrator guides the audience through absurd segments about such diverse subjects as cannibal babies, killer cats and dead parrots. Although the skits were originally produced for television, the film contains alternate versions that were remade without a studio audience.

Anarchic in structure and content, this is perhaps the feature film that is truest to the Python spirit. Go to Full Review Derek Malcolm Guardian Mar 20, 2020
[And Now for Something Completely Different] includes some of the best items... without quite convincing that what was marvellous in weekly half-hour doses stands up as ninety minutes of cinema. Go to Full Review Margaret Hinxman Daily Telegraph (UK) Mar 20, 2020
Not so much a film, more a long giggle: some gags sag, bat not too many. Go to Full Review Steve Warren The Barb (Atlanta) May 9, 2023

Turk B @m.addict.1955 1 day ago It is not really different. See more Raldyr H @Raldyr Aug 3, 2026 As for my first experience with Monthy Python movies/sketches, it was unpredictable and insanely amusing. Worth a watch just to experience the ride, not the destination. See more Petros T @PetrosTserpelis Sep 4, 2022 Legendary comedy troupe Monty Python's debut theatrical release essentially is an anthology film comprising tens of recreated sketches originally from the first two seasons of their TV show, "Monty Python's Flying Circus", plus a few exclusive transitions (animated or not). A lot of the sketches are among their best, although some weaker material is also present. In any case, the group's hilarious, anarchic, out-there originality and Terry Gilliam's brilliant animation are properly showcased. See more Read all reviews
