In the end, there are a number of traits here, but nothing particularly impressive, perhaps with the exception of the protagonist’s charisma. "Broken Land" is one of those movies that are easy to watch, but also easy to forget Go to Full Review

Despite being a familiar tale of redemption, Walker’s subdued directorial chops and David Morse’s moving performance uplift "Broken Land" from being just another forgettable tale about a loner learning to live again.  Go to Full Review

It’s difficult to appreciate much of anything when a movie moves at such a boring pace while offering so few redeeming qualities to latch onto. Go to Full Review

Broken Land may be seen as an homage to Clint Eastwood’s classics. And if Walker is staking his claim to that particular throne, he may just be the rightful heir. Go to Full Review

It is a well-made drama that tackles an intractable issue without pretending to solve it. More importantly, it insists on the value of human connection at a time when compassion is too easily dismissed as naïveté. Go to Full Review

Mina B @RT21069210 1 day ago A beautiful and gentle film about a hard topic. Films like this should be seen and supported. See more Sal D @JustTheLaw 2 days ago For the first 45 minutes or so, I was thinking this was going to be a meandering story propped up by David Morse's strong performance. By the time the third act hit, I was emotionally invested, just like the character Carson Tidwell played by Morse and with passing minute, I realized that Joseph Walker's direction was purposefully subtle until it was not. Bravo! See more Zev B @RT54915626 5 days ago Feels true and lived in, like the best pair of old boots. Morse kills it. I know him as a character actor, but he steps up here and lets his craggy old face speak volumes. The filmmaker clearly knows this world, and it comes out in all the little character details and textures. He lets his quiet powerful Border story unfold in ways that surprised me. See more Peter M @RT06531912 Oct 6, 2026 This is an absolutely beautifully produced, directed, and photographed film with amazing performances from the entire cast! It's deep and moving. Check it out!! See more Dana H @RT45062496 Oct 5, 2026 My appreciation for any art form rests largely in what it makes me feel and how it challenges me to think differently about a subject, a culture, or a group of people. This film does both beautifully. It reveals how easy it is to live within a silo, seeing the world through a singular lens, and how quickly that perspective can shift when we are invited to experience the same story from another point of view. That message feels especially timely in a country where our conversations around this subject too often seem stripped of empathy and humanity. David Morse delivers a superb performance, while JT Walker tells a poignant and timely story in Broken Land, with an authenticity that makes it both believable and deeply affecting. More than anything, the film reminds us of the power of perspective and of our shared humanity when we are willing to see the world through someone else’s eyes. See more Camille S @CamilleS Oct 5, 2026 This scorching, visually stunning film is heart-breaking and honest about the choices we make in life whether or not to help ourselves or someone else going through pain, loss, transformation and ultimately survival.
