Julian 09/21/2024 informative but boring See more Kayson L @klilley12 Jul 22 8.1/10. movie is actually overrated in my opinion. mcqueen starts to age and has to deal and prepare with it. the movie pays a lot of respect to doc hudson and makes for heartwarming scenes. the ending is a little different with cruz stepping in the race and is ultimately what slightly is holding the movie back. See more Tim T @RT66482836 Jul 18 Cars 3 is nearly just as good as the original just missing a few things,for example mqueen doesnt race in the final race like he was supposed to in a deleted scene but instead hes just a mentor to cruz who im not a big fan of her character.but overall the movie is funny mqueen goes back to his classic paintjob and the crash scene was really cool,and definitely a step up from Cars 2.Mqueen finally having a competator is nice to see he is finally challenged by a new generation of racers See more diogo13 T @Tua_mera Jul 13 This sequel manages to restore the franchise's dignity with a more mature narrative focused on legacy and the passing of the torch. I had just finished ranting about how horrid Cars 2 was, and I was hoping that Cars 3 was going to help me clear my head, and I'm SO glad I watched the whole thing! Cars 3 was both a visual treat and a stunning and deep film on aging, legacy, and passing the torch onto the next generation. But the scenes with Doc Hudson are probably the saddest parts of this movie! Doc had to fight his way to the top, but then sadly crashed, and he didn't even get another chance to prove himself. The only reason why I didn't give this the perfect 5 stars was because of Cruz Ramirez. I kinda felt he character was forced into Lightning McQueen's replacement, ESPECIALLY during the final race. Ultimately, Cars 3 is a mature film; tackling the themes of aging and legacy, it's visually stunning, and a FAR better film than Cars 2! See more Bret M @BretM-3 Jun 30 POTENTIAL SPOILERS I like this movie a lot. After the complex spy thriller that is Cars 2, this movie is a nice return to form. Racing is the primary focus of this series again! I just think this is the perfect story to tell to close out this trilogy. In the first movie, Lightning McQueen is a hotshot rookie, so it only feels right to close this story with him as a seasoned veteran watching himself be passed up by the newer models on the track. The first 15 minutes or so of this movie really lets you get a feel for the tone they’re going for here. A little bit darker. A little more serious. I also love everything they do in this movie in regard to Doc Hudson. Cars 2 quickly rushes past this plot point because it wasn’t relevant to the spy thriller they were telling, so I think it’s great that this movie goes back and really lets you feel the impact his death had on McQueen. I think his interactions with Smokey were also really heartfelt. Overall, a great conclusion to a great trilogy. See more Read all reviews
