Vassili is a young Russian sharpshooter who becomes a legend when a savvy political officer makes him the hero of his propaganda campaign. Without its ambitious underpinnings, these virtuoso set pieces wouldn't flicker with emotion. In Enemy at the Gates, gravity has entertainment value, at least to those who can respond to wartime fervor.

Another great piece from the French director JJ. Annaud. Very well done, great actors, good story coming from real WW2 events. An ending a bit hollywoodesque (the German guy has to be a really bad guy, right ?), nothing too bad, don’t worry…. You got to see this one.
