Exit 8 is brisk and decidedly unpresumptuous, going so far as to nobly refuse to wallow in endless jump scares, which it easily could have. Less of a masterpiece and more of a mirror, it is the best kind of mildly upsetting.

Hard movie to rate, because it was tremendously thought-provoking, well-made, and creative. It's refreshing to see a movie so subtle, meaningful, and original—and with such a great message. However, I docked it a star because it wasn't very entertaining—definitely not for everyone, and not a movie I'd care to watch again.
