What to Know

Critics Consensus

It struggles with the balance between fact-based biopic and taut political thriller, but Fair Game brims with righteous anger -- and benefits from superb performances by Naomi Watts and Sean Penn.

Fair Game was in no way a terrible movie, but with a scattered storyline and somewhat caricature-like performances by both leads, it failed to connect as it should have. Go to Full Review Peter Howell Toronto Star Apr 4, 2011

This isn't a message movie, per se, but a strong point of view comes through regardless: In the battle of principles vs. politics, politics always win. Go to Full Review Philip French Guardian Mar 14, 2011

Alain E @AlainE Jul 11, 2026 It’s not easy to make a movie when most of the reality events are well understood. Hopefully by now GW has realized how he was manipulated. Cheney on the other hand, is now under the jurisdiction of Beelzebub. Seeing who is now sleeping on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue we took one step forward and two steps back. On Prime. Good music, especially with the end credits. See more thiago s @Thiagostone Nov 18, 2025 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more Harvey K @Harvey658 Jul 22, 2025 My back hurts and all Government is lying even the pretend itty bitty nice ones. Rated PG-13 for Some Language!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See more David H @RT60765788 Aug 31, 2024 A fairly good movie made better by the fact that it's essentially true. Bush/Cheney lied us into a war in Iraq. A war which killed 100,000 innocent Iraqis, destabilized the middle east, and paved the way for the rise of ISIS. Bush will go down in history as the worst president in American history. See more Faiz D @RT95588871 Aug 29, 2024 Fair Game features fantastic performances from Sean and Naomi.
