Esta primeira metade em 1666 é visualmente muito interessante e dá uma resolução inteligente e feminista ao mistério de Sarah Fier, embora os sotaques forçados do elenco que regressa quebrem um bocado a imersão. O regresso a 1994 para o confronto final recupera a energia divertida dos capítulos anteriores, fechando a saga de forma redonda e competente, embora sem o impacto que o conceito original prometia. The first two entries worked well as slasher entertainment, but this final chapter gives the whole story more meaning and emotional weight. The 1666 section is not just a witchcraft setting; it becomes a way to talk about fear, control, misogyny, racism and hatred toward anyone who is different or refuses to fit into the accepted order. That makes the horror feel more human, and therefore more disturbing. The film still has blood, pace and genre fun, but it also connects past and present in a way that makes Shadyside’s curse feel less like a simple horror device and more like a story about injustice and collective violence. I understand what the first two were building up to but this movie feels flat and thinks itself too smart for its own good.
