When a powerful satellite system falls into the hands of Alec Trevelyan, AKA Agent 006 (Sean Bean), a former ally-turned-enemy, only James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) can save the world from an awesome space weapon that -- in one short pulse -- could destroy the earth! a pleasant blast from the past with outstanding picture and sound 4k bluray upgrade quality making it feel like it was filmed this year. Finally getting to experience in the theatre first time ever having not been able to in my early childhood. Great way to celebrate the 30th anniversary on JB 007 day!

Il ritorno dell'agente per eccellenza porta in dote un nuovo interprete che sembra calzare a pennello e riportare a Bond quel fascino irresistibile e british che non si vedeva dal primo Roger Moore. La sceneggiatura non è di grande qualità, si basa su una novità dell'agente rinnegato ma non riesce a creare una trama solida ed anzi risulta particolarmente forzata nello svolgimento e nei dialoghi. Ciò nonostante, il ritorno di Bond con al seguito i soliti personaggi, tra cui alcune gradite conferme, riesce ad appassionare e a divertire. Il finale con la base subacquea non è particolarmente riuscito, così come buona parte delle sequenze di azione.

GoldenEye's biggest strength is that it doesn't feel like a reboot, rather a continuation of the James Bond story. The opening scene feels like a continuation of Dr. No. Pierce Brosnan was great, the Sean Bean twist was expected, the tank chase scene was a bit over the top and the gadgets were fun. All in all, I found myself really enjoying this one. Best Character: Boris Best Quote: "I am invincible!" - Boris Best Scene: The Satellite Fight Best Piece of Score: "For Ever, James" (Honorable mention to "Pause Screen" from the N64 game) Note: I don't know why, but James Bond is an iPad type of movie.
