Tom F Feb 7 I totally slept on this until noticing it in NYT’s list of best movies of the century. Timothy Treadwell is a bit of a jerk but a fascinating documentary subject. The movie about his obsession which leads to he and his girlfriend being eaten is far too long and boring. He did manage to stay safe for years while behaving like a Touron. There are a few very awkward moments that feel like they shouldn’t have made it into the final cut. It’s certainly interesting, though — I got to see some pretty cool things, like two gigantic bears brawling it out. See more Olivia D Jul 26 Timothy Treadwell is a person who never found his spot in the human world, so he joined the Bears. He was a person who wanted to be unique and be chosen by others, and he took it to the point of lying about his origins. When trying so hard to fit in society didn't work, I think he turned to animals to shock others and show the world he was different. Once he found his spot with them, I truly believe he learned to love it. Loved that he was one of a kind with these bears, that's why he hated tourists so much because they took away the one thing he had to brag about. In the end, that's what killed him. The documentary was filmed well, Werner gives your space to feel uncomfortable and intrigued. See more Read all reviews
