More televisual than cinematic, Half Light is too chocolate boxy and clean to be completely convincing, but it's a diverting enough story. Go to Full Review

Demi Moore is used to the odd supernatural love story (Ghost, 1990) and she works hard at Rachel, but the screenplay just isn't up to the genre. It's not super, it's not that natural and it's not very thrilling ... the end result is not even half right. Go to Full Review

There's a pleasingly Hitchcockian feel to this entertainingly old-fashioned thriller and writer-director Craig Rosenberg pulls off several impressive twists so that you're never quite sure just where the story's going. Go to Full Review

This moody thriller is fairly strong on gothic creepiness, but not so good with actual thrills. Go to Full Review

Robert P @Superbad 2 days ago Half Light is a 2 star Movie! See more B B. @BethBrown Mar 24, 2026 Wow. Engaging thriller with twists and turns creepy and atmospheric and Scottish village, lighthouse, seas were a major draw as well. Locals were perfect, naturals. Demi always does the job. See more Melanie H @Mellylouch Jan 4, 2026 Half Light is an uneven film that mistakes atmosphere for depth. The story feels rushed yet oddly stagnant, offering very little character development to support its emotional stakes. Demi Moore’s performance is lacklustre, never fully grounding the grief the film depends on, while the dramatic coastal scenery does much of the emotional heavy lifting the script avoids. Tonally, the film can’t decide what it wants to be — jumping awkwardly between grief drama, gothic ghost story, and psychological thriller without earning any of them. The result is a disjointed viewing experience where pacing problems and abrupt tonal shifts undermine what could have been a compelling exploration of loss. Instead of psychological cohesion, the film relies on mood alone — and mood isn’t enough. See more jacehtc01 T @RT58231103 Nov 27, 2025 I thought the plot, suspense, and twist were well done. The movie definitely gave me literal chills. I felt Demi's acting was a bit flat, but everyone else was on point. A bit slow at times, but recommendable for sure. See more Garry A @heavyg Sep 13, 2025 I really, really tried to stick with this movie. I periodically fast forwarded it. The score was so awful. See more Betty H @RT48272622 Jun 23, 2025 Why would the author of this plot give the protagonist the same name as another famous writer?. I kept expecting something about environmentalism!
