Walker (Tom Hardy) is a bruised detective fighting his way through the criminal underworld threatening to engulf his entire city. In the aftermath of a drug deal gone wrong, Walker finds himself with a number of factions on his tail; a vengeful crime syndicate, a crooked politician, as well as his fellow cops. When attempting to rescue the politician's estranged son, whose involvement in the drug deal starts to unravel a deep web of corruption and conspiracy, he is forced to confront the demons of his past.

Gareth Evan’s just really wants to punch things, shoot at others, and blow things up. It is as if Evan’s is pitching himself to Rockstar should they ever want a Grand Theft Auto movie.

Fans of the Raid films will relish some of the audacious action sequences. while Hardy fashions a gruff powerhouse performance from the bones of Walker. Fans of Gareth Evans will feel appeased as unleashes Tom Hardy to wreak Havoc, literally.

I really wanted to like Havoc, really wanted to. It had all the ingredients I usually go for: gritty tone, hard-edged action, and the promise of something intense. But for whatever reason, it just never fully clicked. There are flashes of what could’ve been a great, bruising crime thriller, yet it felt uneven and a bit hollow by the end. I kept waiting for it to grab me, and it just never quite did.

It took me five long years to finally watch this film. Why did it take so long? Was it because of CGI, reshoots, and editing until it was perfect? Or did all that effort fail to produce a release-worthy movie, leaving the team struggling and flailing…? It’s clearly the latter… a disappointment. As a fan of Gareth Evans, having watched The Raid and Gangs of London, I had high expectations, hoping this could become a Hollywood version of The Raid. Unfortunately, it may have been too early to cast some of Hollywood’s top actors. Tom somehow dodges bullets fired from every angle—side, floor, front—yet Cantonese-speaking Chinese characters get shot excessively. This ended up feeling like a Chinese massacre film. And my five-year wait… what was it for?

Pore money grab by Hardy, Olyphant and Whitaker. I think there were more bloody deaths and rounds of ammo shot off than the entire invasion of the Falkland Islands. The best acting was done by the stuntpeople. Enough said.

Hardy and Oliphant are solid throughout. Sure this is over the top but that’s what this film’s all about. Sit back and enjoy the action.
