Critics Consensus

Cloying and unfunny, Holy Man wastes the repartee between Eddie Murphy and Jeff Goldblum on the gospel of toothless satire and unearned sentimentality.

It may not be earthshaking, but this calmly competent feel-good movie shows that a little sincerity can go a long way.

The gold mine of so much comedic potential between Goldblum and Murphy not 'holy’ evident in the screenplay. Some chuckles and grins...sure, it was watchable., even if just for the actors, not the memories.

By Eddie Murphy
