Scrat's continuous pursuit of an infernal acorn has world-changing consequences for Manny (Ray Romano), Sid (John Leguizamo) and Diego (Denis Leary) when the continents split apart. The continental crack-up separates Manny and his friends from the rest of the herd, including Manny's mate, Ellie (Jennifer Lopez) and rebellious daughter Peaches (Keke Palmer). Just sort of sits on the screen, going through the motions for 90 minutes or so. It's neither good nor bad and, unless you are under the age of 8, you'll likely forget it by the time you get home.

Now this should have been the third movie, not the Dawn of Dinosaurs. Felt very much like the second movie. Just a solid Ice Age story, but I worry it might be over done with the last two films.

Unnecessary, illogical continuation. Continental Drift is really when the franchise kinda just… died. The third one wasn’t particularly good either, but at least it didn’t feel like we threw all rules and logic out of the window. Here, the opening sequence is Scat literally plummeting down to “Earth’s Core”, and running around on it chasing the usual acorn, resulting in a literal divide of continents. And the movie just kinda has that feel to it. Like they no longer care about any rules or sense of logic, and just desperately trying to keep going with silly antics and ludicrous storylines. I understand I’m talking about an Ice Age movie, but if there aren’t any sort of rules or logic to ground it at all, why should I care what happens?
