Power-hungry King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) and his ruthless army march across Greece, leaving burned-out villages and the corpses of the innocent in their wake. Hyperion's goal is to find the long-lost Bow of Epirus; with this invincible weapon, he can cast the gods out of Mount Olympus and become master of the world. A stonemason named Theseus (Henry Cavill) heeds the words of the sibylline oracle (Freida Pinto), who convinces him that he is the key to stopping the bloodthirsty king.

The melding of real sets, CG work, and Tarsem's signature style produces fireworks, though the same can't be said for Immortals slack, boring storytelling.

The film is fast-paced and the dialogue doesn't make your ears bleed... For incidental pleasures like these, I'm willing to forgive a swashbuckler a great deal of heterodox stupidity.

This is way better than I expected. I wanted to look at some early Henry Cavill work as I've always been impressed by his fight scenes in movies. This early movie contains some of the best sword and spear fights I've ever seen. Definitely get now why his fight scenes in The Witcher are so brilliant even though the idiots running that show (into the ground) had no idea how to make it and thought it would be a great idea to piss all over the source material, which caused Cavill's departure. On the plus side really looking forward to Highlander.
