Jackie Chan's First Strike is kung-foolishness of a very entertaining sort, and action fans will get a kick out of it. Go to Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times Jan 1, 2000

Here is crucial dialogue from early in Jackie Chan's First Strike': "It's me! I found new suspect!'' "Who is he?'' "I don't know!'' Right there you have the beauty of the Jackie Chan movies. Go to Full Review Susan Wloszczyna USA Today Jan 1, 2000

There's definitely more than three rings' worth of death-defying feats, high-flying slapstick and even a few well-trained animal acts. Go to Full Review Nick Rogers Midwest Film Journal Jun 30, 2026

While it was inevitable Jackie Chan would attempt to emulate James Bond at some point, why does the finished product have to feel like "Octojackie"? Go to Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.

See more Thomas H @RT34076855 Mar 25, 2023 First Strike is a smorgasbord for fans of action comedy. While maybe not as strong a film as the previous entries in the Police Story series, First Strike sees Chan at the top of his game in regards to choreography and sheer entertainment value.
