James C @WhopperMD Dec 25 Sterile, boring, unexciting. The story doesn't have the impact as the comic. That series made groundbreaking and permanent changes to decades-static characters. That same iconoclastic tsunami is presented as if it's only another story. The pacing is slow, the acting passionless. There is hardly any feeling of emotion or resonance. The speak as talking at, and not to others. E.g. there is too much of a pause between discussion. (A sign at they were not in the same studio during recording, and the audio editor left too much time in between). The animation? Below par. Like almost all DC animated productions with few exceptions, they don't look like the original artist. Batman Year One, the Dark Knight Returns mimicked the original art. Instead we get a non-exciting and emotionally flat rendition. They missed an opportunity to homage one of greatest of all time, the recently deceased original artist George Perez. It looks like the animators pretty much ran out of ideas or had no time to fully flesh out the story and characters. Also the legendary Batman and Joker voice actors, the late great Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill deserved better. See more Michael P @MikeP29 Sep 22 Pretty good, about average. Thought some of the voice acting was suspect, same as some of the animation. Score actually was excellent and the action was fine. I'm not a fan of how they told the story, jumping from earth to earth and keeping it confusing like from Barry's perspective. It created more confusion that was necessary and made the whole experience less enjoyable but, at the end, realizing what we were watching was, admittedly, very satisfying and very touching. I will say, it can be hard finishing parts and still making it feel like a complete movie which it does, for the most part. The story is bad from beginning to end but it feels like they did not have any of it planned out from beginning to end. What really bugged me was the art work!!!
