Il personaggio di 007 viene leggermente modificato, diventando più ironico ma allo stesso tempo meno empatico. La sceneggiatura non è delle migliori e anche il villain è tra i più deboli della saga; i combattimenti sono quasi tutti piuttosto noiosi e prevedibili; non riescono ad aggiungere la consueta spettacolarità. Especially in way of New Orleans, and swamps of the Louisiana bayou. Also noteworthy , one of the most thrilling boat chases of cinema. The film also introduces audience to Jane Seymour, who plays lovely Tarot card reader , Solitaire. Some devious villains ,crocodiles , snakes , and oh yeah Sharks, make this a great James Bond film to watch. The cinematography is very satisfying, and is in many ways better than the hyper-defined, insta-airbrushed quality of today's productions. It looks real in a way I'd forgotten was possible, and that alone is very soothing. Roger Moore is wonderful, conveying his feelings a gentlemanly raised eyebrow at a time. Is this an unadulterated male-power fantasy? Of course. Bond is the ultimate Gary-Stu, but who cares? We expect the blatant sexism of the powerless, beautiful women all falling for the dashing hero. The villains are colourful and imaginative, the Caribbean locations feel real and straight out of a fable at the same time. The voodoo rites, crocodile rivers and inept white sheriffs are fun, as is the chase through the bayous' villas. Excellent. The plot is overly complicated and the villains are pretty unremarkable. It does have some fun chases though. See more John Y. @JYJr16 Feb 5 Roger Moore debuts. But in-between the many reprisals of the theme song, we’re left with a Blaxpoitation film, a Smokey and the Bandit reboot and, finally, a Silver Streak finale. Some Bond films age better than others.
