Timothy Dalton porta un James Bond molto meno sgargiante e sicuro di sè, più normalizzato e a tratti quasi leggermente viscido seppure più dolce; può piacere o no, sicuramente è l'interprete che più si allontana dal personaggio standard del celebre agente. Interessante la trama, con diverse parti coinvolte e con una sequenza finale al cardiopalma sull'aereo in volo. It plays like a kind of ho-hum DEA drug movie and eliminates a lot of the reasons Bond is fun to watch. There's an edge to his Bond that works remarkably well with John Glen's vision for these movies. Here it makes the sillier stuff stand out in good ways but the movie never feels unbalanced. See more gungi T @WhatWhere Jan 30 This is a Bond film that I enjoyed. Jumping from each decade and watching one movie makes you realize the progress the films make. The action is more choreographed, the scenes better shot, and the general depth of the story well thought out, giving it more nuance and characterization. Timothy Dalton proves himself to be a legitimate Bond and particularly excels in the action scenes. The locations are beautiful, and the collection of soundtracks complements the style and aesthetics of the movie. The direction uses a few witty and clever moments during the action scenes, and developments in technology enhance the possibilities of portraying these, even though they sometimes become excessive and over the top. While the movie does well overall, the ending and its sudden involvement of political revolutionaries seems too hasty and could have been given a little more attention. At the same time, the movie extends its stay toward the end for too long. Overall, Dalton’s Bond needs no hiding. See more Read all reviews
