Teenager John Curtis (Lance Kerwin) has an embarrassing problem: He can't stop wetting his bed. His mother (DeAnn Mears) thinks the best way to discourage the habit is to publicly display his stained sheets from the window, so John gets in the habit of racing home from school to hide them before his friends can see. He soon finds that he's becoming quite good at running, and joins the school track team. John excels, overcoming his problem and eventually becoming an Olympic athlete.

Hector S @tobyjack13 2 days ago First saw this movie as a kid in 1976 and was both impressed and in awe of what this movie was about. Bed wetting was just not talked about and for this movie to just make it front and center was groundbreaking. This was when Lance Kerwin was really beginning to make a name for himself on TV, so it was important for me to watch it, just to see Lance Kerwin perform. I had no idea at the time that it was going to be a movie about the trauma that inspired a fictional marathon runner, to run fast and run long distances. As a kid, I felt tremendous empathy for the protagonist, John Curtis, (Lance Kerwin) and for his father, played by actor Brian Keith. When I ran cross country and track in high school in the 80s, I knew what it felt like to feel as a runner, both exhilarating and isolating because it is a solo sport. Gotta give tremendous credit for Michael Landon to bravely make this semi-autobiographical story and I gained so much more respect for him as a result.
