I'm a fan but haven't been a constant viewer of SNL over the years. There was just so much about the origin and history of SNL that I didn't know. I enjoyed getting the background story from cast members and friends of Lorne and the show. What a crazy ride! Took me totally away from the worla and its woes for an hour and a half. I needed the relief!

As a long-time (on and off) SNL fan I am interested in some of the nitty gritty elements in the production of the show. Indeed, Lorne is mostly a biopic about SNL, rather than Lorne Michaels. However, there were a number of new things that I learned about Mr. Michaels, including his picturesque vacation home in Maine and close friendship with Paul Simon. Lorne didn't appear as an autocrat behind the stage, but there is a strong undercurrent of his power and willingness to exercise it.
