Tamsin (Emily Blunt) is a student on summer break living at her family's estate, passing the time riding her horse and practicing the cello. From different worlds, they meet and kindle a relationship that extends beyond friendship. Director Pawel Pawlikowski's My Summer of Love is a stylish film about passion, deception, and the danger of religious fanaticism. The acting by the two young leads is excellent, Pawlikowski uses interesting camera angles throughout, and while the plot seems relatively straight-forward throughout, the story takes an unexpected and interesting turn in the final act.
