As we live and breathe, Steven Soderbergh is making the best kid-stuff for adults since Howard Hawks put Cary Grant in a sombrero. It's no small achievement. Go to Full Review

Soderbergh plots and pulls off the gold standard for the modern heist movie, and does it via a film that doesn't have a mean-spirited bone in its body. Go to Full Review

Ocean’s Eleven maintains the appropriate swagger and air of cool collectedness, but it’s hard to be impressed with its suavity as it bungles its own caper trail. Go to Full Review

Vixo S @vixo_six 4d Ocean's Eleven succeeds because it understands that style can be enough when executed with precision. Steven Soderbergh does not build the film around the most complex heist, but around rhythm, charm and the pleasure of watching a group of characters move together with confidence. The cast is the film's strongest asset. Each character has presence and timing, making the team feel balanced and enjoyable beyond the mechanics of the plan. The script is not especially intricate, yet that simplicity works because the film depends less on surprise than on execution. Soderbergh's direction keeps everything fluid through pacing, camera movement and editing. No scene feels unnecessary, and the energy never fades. Ocean's Eleven is light, stylish and proudly entertaining, proving that sometimes cinema does not need great depth to be completely satisfying.
