After successfully robbing five casinos in one night, Danny Ocean and his crew of thieves have big problems. Despite pulling off one of the biggest heists in Las Vegas history, the members of the gang have already spent much of the money they stole. Casino owner Terry Benedict demands that Ocean return the money, plus millions more in interest. Unable to come up the cash, the crew is forced to come together to pull off another series of heists, this time in Europe.

Critics Consensus

While some have found the latest star-studded heist flick to be a fun, glossy star vehicle, others declare it's lazy, self-satisfied and illogical.

An exercise in Rat Pack razzle dazzle, wrapped in enviable tailoring and topped off with 12 pairs of perfect white teeth, the film milks every last drop of fun from the easy onscreen camaraderie of the ultimate in-crowd.

Ocean's Twelve is busier, messier and thinner than its predecessor, and while it looks like the cast is having a blast and a half, the studied hipness can get so pleased with itself it borders on the smug.

Whereas the caper in Ocean’s Eleven felt rather simplistic, the one in Ocean’s Twelve is needlessly convoluted.

With such a charismatic cast, it’s impossible for "Ocean’s Twelve" to be an awful bore. But it’s an underwhelming case of six of stars, half-a-dozen of the other that doesn’t let everyone, including the audience, in on the fun.

Poor movie with way to much music, sometimes for more than 5 minutes and really anoying music. Did n't watch it till end because of that. 11 and 13 are way better even eight is better

The more I think about the story & the heist, the sillier they feel. BUT was on full vibe while watching! So much energy, style, playfulness & sheer coolness!!

Ocean’s Twelve works best when it stops trying to match the clean precision of Ocean’s Eleven and embraces its looser European style. Amsterdam, Rome, Paris, and Lake Como give the movie a stylish travelogue quality, while the jazzier, more experimental rhythm helps it avoid feeling like a simple Vegas repeat. The cast still has great chemistry, with George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, and the returning ensemble carrying the movie through sheer personality. Vincent Cassel is a strong addition as the Night Fox, and his laser-dance sequence is one of the sequel’s most memorable moments. The biggest problem is the plot. It piles on twists, fake-outs, debts, rivalries, and reveals until the cleverness becomes unnecessarily confusing. The Tess-as-Julia-Roberts gag is bold but also distracting. Ocean’s Twelve is stylish and interesting, but it is not as focused, clean, or satisfying as the first film.
