An ordinary evening in a small Texas town becomes a grisly nightmare when a horde of flesh-eating zombies goes on the prowl. Cherry (Rose McGowan), a go-go dancer, and Wray (Freddy Rodriguez), her ex-lover, band together with other survivors in a no-holds barred effort to escape the carnage. The odds become a bit more even when Cherry, who lost her leg to a hungry ghoul, gets a machine-gun appendage and lets the bullets fly.

McGowan is a suitably slinky presence as the lead avenger with a machine gun for a leg; blood and pus regularly fill the screen as Rodriguez lets rip with gleeful abandon.

A clever ode to Grindhouse films of the 60s and 70s, Robert Rodriguez leans heavily into gross-out fratboy humour, but gives all of the best roles to the badass women who survive the apocalypse long after the men have died off.

A+ for casting specially, Rose McGowan really hot. Of course, we know the full story now I still love her. Great scripts a lot of one liners. The Texas barbecue banter between the brothers. I give us a 10 out of 10. It’s the art of taking a C movie and making it in A movie. Tarantino‘s movie was also very good. If you choose to watch the grind house version of this movie. " that’s my jacket. I looked for it for two weeks."

I shouldn’t enjoy this one but I do. Acting is hammy but good. Produced very well and special effects are actually very decent. More than a slight nod to the Evil Dead but Rose McGowan takes it to higher levels by looking incredible throughout. Watched on DVD.

Planet Terror (2007) is a cheesy and boring movie that I watched, the zombies in this story seem more like disgusting and repulsive creatures. There might even be an interesting scene in the final act, but this not help at all.

B-MOVIE BUFF Couldn’t agree more. This homage to 60’s grindhouse gore that we would fill up the drive-in parking lot to get together with and party all night long was a real trip to the past. You really need to treat yourself to this one and have an old time trip down memory lane. I wish drive-ins would make a comeback so today’s teenagers could get a taste of good old fashioned fun at the movies.

Synopsis
