Resident Evil is neither a feminist manifesto nor a special-effects landmark. It's just a game. Go to Full Review

Resident Evil, adapted from a bloodthirsty computer game, is not bad so much as bewildering. Go to Full Review

The visuals are flat and uninspired, the stunts are tired and predictable, and with scane exception the acting is stilted and unengaging. Go to Full Review

This is the world of the computer game, and it should definitely stay there, although a film this bad has little chance of infecting the rest of us. Go to Full Review

Benjamin W @Code70 16 hrs ago Yeah I mean, this was fine. Didn’t get as much out of it as I wanted, though. I’m not a Resident Evil fanatic or anything, I haven’t played any of the games and I barely know anything about the lore. So I couldn’t tell you faithful of an adaption this was. To me, it felt like a zombie movie first, with a little bit of The Matrix sprinkled into it. That’s a fun combination, and there’s some fun to be had here. Overall though, I wasn’t as entertained as I was expecting to be, and I didn’t find the plot or story very interesting. I also found the character to be kind of… meh. Paul W.S. Anderson is a guy who makes fun movies. He makes very schlocky B-movies, very much junk food type stuff. But I feel like he doesn’t do as good of a job with them as he could. It’s fine, and sometimes it’s good enough. But they’re never great. I think this is a solid example. Like I said, it’s fine, I would understand if you like as a sort of guilty pleasure. I’m almost there myself. Just not quite. See more Ailyn R @RT98002078 21 hrs ago Entertaining and interesting premise, but too much dramatic flare that does not match the genre. See more Mikey G @RT88013850 2 days ago Worst movie ever seen! Made the main character look stupid AF!!!! There was so much common sense and he didn’t have any ! Laaaaaaaaame !!!! Cause this does NOT live up to what it was like when it came out. I mean, sure, even back then it was a cheesy action thriller about the zombie apocalypse, but at least the CGI didn't seem so god awful. Boy, did this age poorly. Acting is over the top, but. Jovovich is good enough looking confused but tough. The screenplay is quite basic (i know it's based on a game, but make it interesting at least). CGI, as mentioned, piece of crap. Keep in mind, this came out the same year as Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. Insane. Not sure what redeeming quality i can give to this... It's not good. See more Read all reviews
