See more Logan D Jan 23 The barbarian woman Conann is reborn throughout the ages due to a bargain she made with Rainer, a dog-like person of questionable motives. This visually stylish film takes its inspiration from Howard's famous barbarian and that's about the extent of influence. It's more of a time traversing feminist avant-garde fable in which I'm not sure what the message is. There is no plot logic here, just symbolism. I found the bursts of color interesting in this mostly B&W feature. Far more interesting than entertaining, I think, and unapologetically batshit.
