Tamara, in order to find her son, who was kidnapped during the riots, hires an escaped prisoner, Brayuk, a former interrogator. Brayuk agrees to help for money. But his methods prove harsh and Tamara does not accept Brayuk's methods, while he is alien to Tamara's ideas. They decide to find the boy together, and in this, perhaps, is the answer: People are people no matter where they go.

The two protagonists the audiences are stuck in, while competently acted, are pitifully uninteresting and never get the chance to do anything beyond one-note traits they’re placated with from the minute the movie opens.

An off-kilter oddball tone and super dark comedy should jar against the cacophony of bullets and bloodshed that rains down. Somehow however, the two are married beautifully by Adilkhan Yerzhanov, creating an incredibly intense viewing experience.
