Haley (Missy Peregrym) is a naturally gifted athlete but, with her social behavior, the teen seems intent on squandering her abilities. After a final brush with the law, a judge sentences her to an elite gymnastics academy run by a legendary, hard-nosed coach (Jeff Bridges). This may not be the best movie in the world, but I would consider it a guilty pleasure to watch. There is some good acting from Missy Peregrym, Jeff Bridges and Vanessa Lengies. There are some cool cameos from gymnastics stars. There are also some cool visuals, like the main characters doing cartwheels and flips in prom dresses in a department store. There are also some great character moments, however, there are also some plot conveniences and forced moments that do not work. I would have liked to have had more visuals and commentary about the sport as well. If you are a fan of Missy Peregrym or love gymnastics, then this movie is worth a watch.
