Adam and Ryan, are waiting for their sick father, William, to die so they can receive their fathers' inheritance. Upon William's death, the brothers discover that William gave away his inheritance to the Indigenous people of Bird--a rural hamlet in Northern Canada. Thus, the brothers embark on a journey to the Bird--to convince the Chief of the band, Ed Whitford, to disclaim the estate--with little expectations of the adventures they would encounter that would set events beyond their control.

In the end, “The Birds Who Fear Death” emerges as a mixed bag of a film, as the comments it makes and its subtext are quite intriguing, but the main presentation suffers somewhat

Such an honest, profound exploration into many of the struggles Indigenous people are experiencing. So grateful to watch a movie with real, Indigenous characters- not flattened Hollywood archetypes. 🫶
