Bob Saginowski (Tom Hardy) tends bar in his cousin's pub and looks the other way when local mobsters use the joint as a temporary bank. His simple life takes a complicated turn when he finds a battered puppy. He asks his neighbor, Nadia (Noomi Rapace), for help nursing it back to health, and a mutual attraction sparks between them. However, a robbery at the bar and the return of Nadia's abusive ex force Bob to face the truth about those he thinks he knows best -- including himself.

This was the most slow paced movie I’ve ever seen in my life with horrible acting, and nothing exciting going on. For this to be called a suspense thriller is an insult to all thrillers. I found myself hoping that it would pick up the pace and it never did. The best part of this movie was the puppy. The rest of it was horrible. Save yourself the time from watching it.

This movie was horrible.. I can’t believe it has an 88 rating.. The acting was terrible. A lot of scenes seemed almost useless. This movie had lots of potential but scene after scene I felt myself getting more and more disappointed. Also for a movie like this, where is all the action scenes at? None of the characters were anything special either, nothing drew you to them. I can’t get over the fact this has an 88 and it triggers me a lot of you are calling this a good film. The puppy was the best part of the movie and that was about it.

A totally engrossing, brilliantly acted slow burner — rare to find a film these days that isn't dumbed down or predictable. The Drop is wholly believable, and every frame earns its place, but if your attention span doesn't stretch much beyond a soundbite, this probably isn't for you.

Hardy and Rapace form a relationship over Rocco (the puppy in the trash). Hardy's character is a mild mannered guy that takes care of business in the mobster town.
