Our 6 year old grandson wanted to leave halfway through the movie. It just wasn’t very engaging. We stayed and it got a bit better but I would not recommend it.

Honestly, half a star is too generous for The Last Whale Singer. It’s unmemorable, boring, and painfully shallow. I walked out of the theater not even knowing what I had just watched, other than a one-dimensional plot pretending to be a deep environmentalist message. The movie mistakes moodiness for substance and slow pacing for depth. None of the characters feel real, the story never earns its own seriousness, and by the end, it feels less like a film and more like a lecture wrapped in dull visuals and empty symbolism. There may have been a message buried somewhere in there, but the movie was too lifeless to make me care enough to find it.
