av 8 @RT99530239 20h This is one of my first ventures outside of my niche. This film remarkably reminds me why it lies outside my niche. However, I cannot ascertain what share of that can be attributed to my complete reliance on subtitles and subsequent loss in grasping the finer artistic elements. The making is beautiful. The actors give exemplary performances—now, I have always felt drawn to Italian cinema by its rawness. The tracks and music transcend you into their world. The characters are well-developed, even if not necessarily on the likeable end of the spectrum. Yet, the story is messy. Besides, I am not a big fan of the unsettling trope portrayed.
