Cinema S @cinema_sensei 2d I expected an epic filled with massive battles, but I didn't expect to get so invested in the characters. The scale is breathtaking, the action is unforgettable, and Brad Pitt's Achilles completely owns every scene he's in. I know the film takes plenty of liberties with Greek mythology and Homer's Iliad, and not every character gets the depth they deserve, but none of that took away from the experience for me. It's an epic that balances spectacle, emotion, and unforgettable duels so well that I never wanted it to end. See more Anton S @RT46012653 3d It’s a classic. See more VITALII H @freakynickison 6d I’m still fresh out of finishing "The Song Of Achilles" by Madeline Miller and that’s what made me watch Troy. Can we all collectively agree that Achilles and Patroclus were lovers? What do you mean cousins? That wasn’t in Homer’s "Iliad". Brad Pitt carries the whole thing, yup I said it. He was gorgeous. I didn’t like how Thetis was portrayed in this movie, she had a very small part and she’s nothing like I imagined her to be. Also, I wish that the movie also showed us how Agamemnon sacrificed his daughter Iphigenia to Artemis in order to make the wind blow again so they can sail to the Troy… Which would’ve added to Agamemnon’s character design, missed opportunity. But overall the movie is not bad at all, it’s very decent and nicely done. Orlando Bloom was getting on my nerves the entire time, he was very annoying lol. See more Dr. Sina W @RT65098475 6d Rewatch it, folks! I never understood why people hated this film so much. it always was a good one. But after Nolan's Oddyssey failure Troy got even better. Also it got better in this time of the lost art of story telling. Actually Petersen could be pretty proud about this movie. He also got rid of the gods (WHY?), but at least told a working story with good pictures. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this movie. To me it feels like it was destroyed by negative media propaganda. And back then people were a little more naive when it came to manipulation. Troy is good old epic kitsch.
