RichardAB T @PoorDearRichard Jul 30 It doesn't take long to figure out who's surviving this one. The acting was a bit over the top, and the whole thing felt like your typical survivor movie. The motel looked more like a set at Universal Studios than a real place, and once I realized where it was headed, there weren't many surprises left. It’s a fairly mid-tier horror thriller that has a solid concept but doesn’t fully capitalize on its potential. The premise starts off strong and does a good job setting up tension, especially with the isolated motel setting, which naturally lends itself to suspense. However, the execution feels inconsistent. While there are moments of genuine unease and a few effective scares, a lot of the tension is undercut by predictable beats and uneven pacing. It builds atmosphere well at times, but doesn’t sustain it throughout the film. The performances are serviceable and keep things moving, but none of the characters really stand out in a memorable way.
