The music does not age well, very 2010s indie pop and takes me out of the world. I like the open ended aspect of each wild thing and how Max had to respond to their situations. Overall it’s a little too loose of a plot. The cgi mixed with real costumes is a good balance. Most of them have extremely unstable personalities and it makes the movie stressful to watch. They’re having fun one moment, then sad and angry the next. There’s no winning. Props for the CGI, but the movie was awful. I don’t know why it’s referred to as a metaphor for childhood. I’d recommend just reading the book. It’s far better. It was interesting to me seeing how they would adapt a book that is not very text hevay rather a more visual story into a full feature length movie and overall this movie turned out really beautiful I got really upset when Max had to leave at the end and it was very interesting what Spike Jonze did with this movie and the story and the darker direction he took for this movie.Overall this is a movie I would absolutely seek out and watch again.
