Ben and Rose are children from two different eras who secretly wish that their lives were different. Ben longs for the father he's never known, while Rose dreams of a mysterious actress whose life she chronicles in a scrapbook. When Ben discovers a puzzling clue and Rose reads an enticing headline, they both set out on epic quests to find what they're missing.

The cast is incredibly strong. Fegley and Simmonds are confident focalizers, and Moore is as delightful a screen presence as always. But, for all the lovely adult performances, they are always in service of the young stars.

Transporting and immersive. A unique art film that benefited enormously from our home theater and a top-quality 4K presentation with rich sound. At times it felt like being at a concert, while also giving us a powerful sense of what it might be like to experience the world without hearing.

Such a dogshit, dreadfully long, slow-paced, boring ass movie. I didn't know what the fuck was going on half the time, and I couldn't even get all the way through it. So many talented actors, but one horrible movie.

I LOVED this movie! It is a must-watch and one of my favourite movies. I have to disagree with the bad reviews, people just don't understand the complex plot, so they leave bad reviews. It had me at the edge of my seat. Everytime my friends paused it I was eager for it to start again. The ending really caught me off guard. Great credits to the creators, helpers, and cast of this movie.:)

I completely disagree with many critics about this movie. It is experimental and unique, but still makes you care about the characters and keeps you on the edge of your seat. The filming was beautiful. The contrast between 1927 and 1977 and the difference in filming style between the two time periods was very effective. I felt the ending was emotional and perfect. It's not the same old, same old movie. I rated it four instead of five stars only because I feel it needed more backstory with Rose as a young girl, her mother just disappears from the story and it stops suddenly when she finds her brother. Then all of a sudden we're in 1977 for the rest of the movie. And I also don't give away five stars easily. But this was a wonderful movie, beautifully done.

I enjoyed this one and the journey that the story took you on by alternating between two different time periods, 50 years apart, and connecting them up in the end.
