Lexi H @LexiHenrion May 3 The Deponent surprises you in that it reveals a culprit quite early and with certainty (i.e. no potential red herrings here). I found myself thinking, "Oh, great, now I get to watch the main character run around trying to pin this person down for another hour." However, where this movie shines is how it elucidates upon the events and characters, finding complexity and twists in its surroundings. The final scene will leave you with your mouth agape, before you rewind through the story to piece it all together. The cinematography and color grading is also sleek and pleasing to the eye. I do find that the score overuses its screeching strings in a way that edges on grating to the ear. Overall, promising actors and a script with real intrigue. See more Read all reviews
