Terri S. @Terri42 8h This movie is worth the watch and demonstrates how when saying “Yes” to God’s plan that it can unfold in a way that you could never imagine filled with blessings and miracles. This movie shows how God directs a family through strong faith to overcome obstacles and that changed lives otherwise that would have been forgotten. It leaves you asking yourself, “what can I do to make this world a better place?” Be careful God will use you too! See more Jason W @Wiggie 9h From the first time Pastor Bruce Deel came to speak at our church I knew there was something special about how God was using them. I’ve always been inspired by the stories that come out of City of Refuge, and now you will be too. Very well done documentary about how answering, "yes," can transform a community. See more Cathy C @coopercreative 11h Incredible story about the human spirit and the good in the world when we need to hear it! See more Yolanda H @RT39871286 13h The City of Refuge story hits differently because it’s not just about struggle—it’s about transformation in real time. What usually stands out to people is how deeply rooted it is in the Atlanta community—helping with housing, job training, healthcare, and giving people a real second chance. It’s not polished or sugarcoated, which makes it even more impactful. When Bruce Deel chose to move his own family into the same environment, it stopped being just "service" and became full-on shared life. That kind of decision removes the distance most people keep—it says, I’m not just helping you from the outside, I’m in this with you. It also builds a level of trust you can’t fake. The community isn’t just receiving support—they’re living alongside someone who’s invested personally, not just professionally. That’s rare. And honestly, it challenges the way most people think about giving back. That’s commitment on another level. See more mark B. @RT55966640 19h This documentary is gritty and real. It is not fluff. It is captivating in the ways in which the real people are presented. It is full of faith but zero platitudes. It puts love to the test and love wins. Ya gotta see this documentary!!! See more S H @StarH 20h Truly amazing documentary! City Of Refuge is a wonderful resource to those in need of support and stability from all walks of life.
