Matthew D @OceanSage Jan 18 Robert Redford and Jennifer Lopez are excellent in this underrated drama. Director Lasse Hallström’s drama An Unfinished Life (2005) is very sweet and moving. It’s very quiet, pretty, and thoughtful. I kept thinking that it is so similar to Secondhand Lions. Robert Redford is like the miserable Robert Duvall character, burdened by a loss in his past. Morgan Freeman is like the kind-hearted old man Michael Caine played. There’s even a little kid staying with the old men, who teaches them to live again. Both even have Josh Lucas in them! Robert Redford is excellent as the tough old rancher Einar Gilkyson. Becca Gardner is very sweet and touching as the granddaughter Griff Gilkyson. Jennifer Lopez is a strong single mother named Jean Gilkyson, who has been battered. Josh Lucas is very sweet as the small town Sheriff Crane Curtis, who falls for Lopez. The film's pacing is steady, its message resonant, and the Wyoming landscapes are beautifully captured, enhancing the overall poignancy. E fugindo dele com sua filha, vão para a casa de seu sogro Einar (Redford) e que mora junto com Mitch (Freeman) um capataz que sofreu um ataque de urso. E por isso tem cuidados especiais. E temos Griff a neta que conquista o coração do vô. E ela também. E assim temos Jean que começa a trabalhar e ter um lance com Crane (Josh) o xerife. Até que quem encontra elas Gary e começa o terror, porem agora ela tem homens ao seu lado. E salvam ela e Griff. Com um ótima interpretação de Redford, Freeman e de Becca, trouxeram para este drama um toque especial.
