Superheroes are often as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and sometimes even as revered as gods. But that's when they're using their powers for good. What happens when the heroes go rogue and start abusing their powers? When it's the powerless against the super powerful, the Boys head out on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the Seven and Vought, the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets. Based on the comic book series of the same name.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

The Boys stays true to its form and completes its mission with ample panache, narrative pay-off, and an excess of blood and guts to deviously glorious effect.

The Boys’ latest comeback is proving to be promising, though, in a way that bodes well for the conclusion of a series that once felt profane, fresh, and exciting. Go to Full Review

The show’s fifth and final season has a familiar structure... But it stays strong – there’s even more gore and screw-loose social media commentary. Go to Full Review

Shannon D. @mistershannon 5h It’s fun make believe. Relax people. See more Jason S @RT02262293 10h Seasons 1-3 were awesome then the writing went to crap. I fell asleep during episode 3 of season 5. It's become predictable and boring with the tired 'all (trumpers, Christians, Conservatives, whites) are nazis' cliche every 5 minutes See more Scott S @RT70561827 11h I love much about this show, including the willingness to push boundaries! That includes ultraviolence and gore! What it doesn't include and what I don't see as pushing boundaries is giving in to the ?currently popular? practice of including cuss-words in far too much of the dialog. It does nothing but cause me to cringe. I've nothing moral about using cuss/curse words, but I like to think of them as "power words" that one uses judiciously. But it's cringe here, just like in that college supes spinoff show. I'd love to watch more of both shows, except I know that I'll come away cussing more myself because it does wear off. Also, the Hughie character's weakness is hard to watch. See more Lee S @LeeJS 13h We'll see if they manage to stick the landing but for now it continues to be a 5 star show. See more Ramona H @RT93925814 22h I have just recently became familiar with this series and at first I found it quite entertaining. Then I saw episode 3 of season 5 and my eyes were open. More like bugged out. They used language that would make Larry Flint blush if he was still alive. In whatever universe he’s in now he’s probably clapping. I’m not a prude by a long shot but I say keep down some of the profanity. I do have to compliment Jensen Ackles on his superb acting. That guy is going places. See more Pedro H @RT19380669 1d The show is back to it's roots, great character development for a train, homelander and ryan, high stakes and it's bigger than ever. See more Read all reviews
