Sixteen-year-old Poppy (Emma Roberts) has everything her unlimited credit cards can buy, and a spoiled attitude to match. After a final thoughtless prank, her exasperated father (Aidan Quinn) ships her off to boarding school in England. But then, it had a snappy script, top notch talent behind and in front of the camera and unexpectedly moving moments that stay in the memory. None of these elements is present in this pallid imitation. Miss Roberts in particular should take note that pouting does not equal acting. Give it a miss. Throw in some absolute divas and a cutie patootie in a young Alex Pettyfer and you get one of the best movies of 2008. Not to mention the insane levels of foreshadowing in this movie.
