Frans B @FransB Dec 10 So much potential but something is missing in the writing and directing. So many great names in the cast and they all excel in character with what they were given. Good cinematography and visually appealing. Confusing and seemingly pointless at times, but it leaves you contemplating about some subjects nevertheless. Story lacks depth and more clarity. In the end it is worth a watch See more 01/29/2021 Ouch. What an embarrassing clunker. You got the coming message from a mile away. It's basically a Crash rip-off, with a bunch of damaged people circling around a strip club. Even if Crash had never come along, this would still be an embarrassment and a total waste of acting talent. I don't know what possessed these gifted actors to take on these roles, but it must have been a decent paycheck. Also, back when this film was made, it was easier to believe you could make a bad film and it would get buried and never seen again. However, in the age of Netflix and Prime, these movies are in front of audiences again, much to the horror of all involved, I'm sure. See more 05/12/2016 A dark and disturbing character drama, Powder Blue explores the search for redemption as several peoples' lives intersect in the days leading up to Christmas. Starring Jessica Biel, Ray Liotta, Forest Whitaker, and Eddie Redmayne, the film has an impressive cast. However, the tone is a rather bleak and depressing. And, the resolutions to the character stories come off as contrived, with unearned emotional catharses. Yet there are some interesting things going on, and director Timothy Linh Bui creates some remarkably evocative imagery.
