Boston medical resident Susan Wheeler (Geneviève Bujold) becomes suspicious when her friend (Lois Chiles) is left in an irreversible coma after a routine procedure. Once she uncovers evidence of other patients being left in comas after undergoing procedures in the same operating room, she fears a conspiracy is afoot. When her physician boyfriend, Mark Bellows (Michael Douglas), is skeptical about her findings, Susan must go it alone to uncover the horrible truth.

This movie is about providing the best in concierge medical services to its patients in need. There's nothing wrong with this goal, but there are problems galore in its execution. Innocents suffer a deep sleep before Franco-Canadienne Genevieve Bujold Nancy Drew's her way into doing everything but calling in the police. This highly enjoyable, if, thankfully, unrealistic film shields us from the gory reality of invasive medical procedures as well as witnessing the aftermath of medical malpractice insurance going through the roof!
