See more 12/14/2021 Honestly, I was barely paying attention to Blood and Chocolate. There's maybe one or two alright performances but I found it to just be quite boring. It's basically just proto-Twilight due to this movie preceding the 2008 hit film and its source material coming out before Stephenie Meyer started writing her fantasies about the perfect man and sold it off as paranormal fiction. The production values and CG effects are laughably bad for a mainstream theatrically-released movie from 2007 (a 15 million dollar budget shouldn't be an excuse when there are films done cheaper that are great and still stand the test of time), the romantic chemistry is unconvincing at best, the dialogue is hokey and the story's as generic as they come. I heard that the book was more gritty and this is practically an in-name-only affair but seeing this film and judging it as a stand-alone, it's still crap even if Twilight comparisons can't be made with this movie because Blood and Chocolate was here first. A crappy, forgettable affair that you've most likely heard of for the first time when browsing the ever-addictive TVTropes. If you want a paranormal romance film where the boy is normal and the girl has supernatural gifts done surprisingly well, just watch Beautiful Creatures instead. See more elidh d @RT65513504 11/11/2021 I'll admit I started watching this for Hugh Dancy and Olivier Martinez, but it was so bad that I couldn't finish it. I guess I shouldn't have been too surprised as there aren't any werewolf movies that I've found interesting. For some reason I keep trying to find one I'll like, but this one isn't it. The production values weren't bad, it's just that the story was. I have too many movies to see without wasting time on bad stories. See more Read all reviews
