Farah R @Farah 1 day ago Clownhouse isn’t scary at all. The film in its entirety is about 3 clowns chasing 3 boys around. There’s no gore, no campy atmosphere, no nothing that screams 80s horror. Hacer eso es una debilidad moralista y no vale la pena juzgar algo por un suceso que ya es cosa del pasado. El caso de abuso sexual detrás de cámaras es solo una vieja anécdota que es mucho mejor dejar en el olvido. Lo más importante es el talento de su director que demuestra que estuvo justificado que siguiera trabajando con libertad y que merecía el perdón. Aunque ese suceso haya influido en la película, lo bueno es que el horror plasmado se siente lo bastante sólido para hacer de esta un digno clásico del cine de horror. Su concepto del miedo infantil a los payasos la hace uno de los ejemplos más sobresalientes y significativos de la imagen del payaso asesino. Es una película que cumplió un rol importante en ello y por eso merece un mejor reconocimiento y respeto. Mi calificación final para esta película es un 8/10. Admittedly there are quite a few scenes where the boys are scantily clothed and that was a few too many.. you can just tell there's something not quite right.. That aside the buildup of suspense is massive. It is filled with about a hundred truly eerie moments from a bygone era. As disgusting as the director may be, he does know horror well(probably because he is a monster himself) The direction and editing are truly spooky, the actors are quite good and really went for it. The clowns themselves could have been a bit scarier but it was the boys reactions, the spooky camera work and the buildup that really stole the show for me. See more Raiodesol S @RT32625972 Sep 3, 2024 This movie doesn’t know exactly what it wants to be, mostly relying on chase sequences that, sometimes, are very good. It is able to make you feel eery and on edge sometimes, but overall it’s nothing special. The makeup is average and there’s almost no blood or gore, so it’s not shocking. That area doesn’t stand out. Basically, the movie can be good at times because of its tension, but that’s it, nothing more. A shame considering it had potential with its good main characters and they’re dynamics.
