Mr Hollywood Jul 7, 2026 I enjoyed it while watching it. Afterwards it felt pointless. It’s decent but could’ve been so much more See more Marisa Jun 28, 2026 I liked the artsy feel throughout the movie. I thought the acting was good. Angelina Jolie is stunningly beautiful. The storyline was light on substance, apart from the obvious. I get & liked the message. But it was one of the most depressing movies I have seen. Like I always say in my reviews- check it out for yourself! I look forward to reading what you guys think! PS When you write a book, I never read it. Keep it concise, and NO SPOILERS. If you are tired of sterile Hollywood blockbusters built on green screens and CGI, Alice Winocour’s Couture is the exact antidote you’ve been waiting for. This is cinema in its purest, most human form—a masterclass in raw emotion, gripping drama, and the beautiful complexity of real life. I am completely in awe of this film, and honestly, the negative reviews miss the point entirely. Winocour strips away the superficial glamour of Paris Fashion Week to look at the "stitches" holding real women together. The storytelling doesn't rely on cheap special effects it relies on the human face, unspoken tension, and deeply moving life situations that echo long after the credits roll. My partner and I couldn’t stop debating and unpacking the film’s subtle, untold backstories for hours after leaving the theater. Angelina Jolie is simply fantastic. She delivers a quiet, heartbreaking, and deeply vulnerable performance as Maxine that anchors the entire piece, matched beautifully by a phenomenal supporting cast. If you want to support authentic, European arthouse filmmaking that actually makes you feel something, buy a ticket. It is a striking reminder of why we go to the movies. There were three different storylines and no real character development - not enough to truly care and no chemistry with the love interest. The only emotional scene I believed from Jolie was near the end when she was speaking to her daughter (because I am sure it resonated with her own loss of her mom- I believed her there.) But seemed hyper aware of the camera. Trying to be deep sometimes just doesn’t work. See more Giorgio G @GioBlob 4 days ago Well, what can I say!??! It might be appeasing to women because of the fashion part, but all in all the movie has nothing to say as it doesn't dive into anything seriously; everything is just touched periferically. All seems terribly shallow beyond believe! 2/10 points. See more Read all reviews
