Critics Consensus

Daddy's Little Girls boasts fine performances and a poignant message, but is ultimately let down by amateurish filmmaking.

Dismissed by critics but embraced by African-American audiences, Tyler Perry now opens his pictures without press previews, but on the basis of this expert melodrama he might want to reconsider.

Love can transcend class lines; in Tyler Perry's universe, it also defies all rules of the legal system -- and logic.

I entered this moviegoing experience ready for a lot of wincing and eye-rolling. But dammit if this movie didn't make me laugh and cry.

Infinitely more captivating for its outrageous ungainliness than a great many more proficient filmmakers have ever been able to manage.

The cast is likable, and Perry makes good use of the Atlanta locations.

Perry's habit of reducing drama to verbal sermons is the main thing keeping his movies within the realm of daytime TV.

This is my favorite movie in the whole world. It is so relatable. This movie makes me feel that I'm not the only girl in the world raised by a hard-working dad, with a drug abusing mother. This movie fills me with so much joy.

*Daddy’s Little Girls* is a solid entry in Tyler Perry’s filmography, offering an engaging story with some fresh themes that set it apart from his usual fare. The film’s focus on a father fighting for custody of his three daughters is a refreshing take, bringing a new perspective to Perry’s typical family drama. The performances are strong, particularly Idris Elba’s portrayal of a dedicated father, and the chemistry between the cast helps to elevate the story. While it doesn’t stray too far from Perry’s familiar themes of love, redemption, and overcoming adversity, it’s executed with sincerity and heart. Overall, *Daddy’s Little Girls* is a good watch, providing a nice blend of drama and inspiration that makes it one of Perry’s more memorable films.

This was a feel good movie so of course logic and plot sometimes take a back seat to the story line. Yet, a truly enjoyable movie.

Amazing how the critics always rip Perry's "Madea" movies, yet the audience almost unanimously love them. Makes you wonder. I personally get so much out of the movies, be it laughter, realistic family dynamics, and great acting. Critical are annoying!
